In Puno, on Lake Titicaca, these ladies are
selling fried pork near the bus terminal. At 12,700ft above sealevel,
the town has a dry and cold climate, with a burning daytime sun in stark
contrast to the icy evenings. It is famed as the folklore capital of
Peru, with the world-famous Fiesta de la Candelaria celebrated
in February.
