MACHU PICCHU

The most dramatic and enchanting of Inca citadels, constructed from white granite in a saddle between two prominent peaks, Machu Picchu was built by the Inca Pachacuti. An important agricultural center, most archeologists agree that the sacred geography and astronomy of the site were auspicious factors in helping him decide where to build this incredible structure. After hiking the Inca trail, we were treated to a beautiful sunrise.
